Questions and Answers

Finding the right support often starts with a few questions. Here are some common queries about sessions and how we might work together.

What can I expect from our first session?

Our first meeting is a gentle opportunity to explore what's bringing you to counselling and see if we feel like a good fit. There is no pressure to have everything figured out; you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

How many sessions will I need?

Counselling is an individual process. Some people find short-term support helpful for a specific issue, while others prefer more long-term, depth work. We will check in regularly to make sure our work together continues to feel useful and fits your pace.

What does 'pluralistic' counselling mean?

Every person is unique, so therapy shouldn't be one-size-fits-all. Being pluralistic means I draw from various therapeutic approaches to best support your needs. We work collaboratively to discover what helps you move forward most effectively.

Where do the sessions take place?

I offer in-person sessions in Basingstoke, Winchester, and Eastleigh, providing a calm physical space for our work. I also offer online sessions, giving you the flexibility to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

How much does counselling cost?

Standard 50-minute sessions are £60. Choosing a counsellor is a big decision, so I offer the first session at a reduced rate of £30 to help you decide if you'd like to work with me. Introductory calls are always free.

Is this an emergency service?

No, I am not able to provide an emergency or crisis service. If you are in immediate distress or need urgent help, please contact 999 or call the Samaritans free and anytime at 116 123.
